De Franse moslimkenner Olivier Roy beweert dat de hedendaagse geradicaliseerde vormen van de islam geen teken zijn van afwijzing van de moderniteit, maar juist een symptoom zijn van verwestelijking. Met de globalisering komt de religiositeit van de moslim steeds meer los te staan van de traditie en neemt het belang van individuele keuzes en verantwoordeliojkheden toe. De politieke islam heeft schipbreuk geleden en de algemene tendens is uiteindelijk gericht op integratie. In die zin heb je gelijk. De vraag is echter hoe snel dit proces in Europa verloopt en hoe desastreus de tegenwerking van extremistische groeperingen kan zijn.

Muslims in Europa and elsewhere have not wait
that Western culture discovers muslim fundamentalism
to resist to it Huub.
Many protests are coming from inside . And not only protests, in some countries it’s civil war (Algeria…)
Only the media-society prefair to ignore them, not
spectacular enough, not on purpose…
And abandoning the concept of multiculturality at the very moment where this concept was essential to resist muslim fundamentalism is the most ever stupid thing done, living the politic field open to any fascist provocations and manipulations, preparing simply their march
to power.

Die gelijkenis gaat op voor iedereen die zich ergens aan schuldig maakt.
Die vraag in kwestie is: wie bepaalt hier waar en wanneer of iemand zich ergens aan schuldig maakt.

Men moet zich ter goeder wil opstellen nietwaar? Ik wil een zakkenroller niet met in moslimfundamentalist vergelijken. Voor een zakkenroller geldt eveneens, als hij een ander schade berokkend, dat hij de gevolgen moet kunnen overzien als hij wordt gepakt , niettegenstaande het feit dat hij het slachtoffer zou kunnen zijn van een slechte gezinssituatie.

In grote lijnen ben ik het met je eens. Alleen vind ik dat de islam zelf ook een probleem heeft. Zolang de democratisch gezinde moslims in Europa zich niet méér gaan verzetten tegen het islamitisch extremisme blijven de problemen zich opstapelen. De oplossing zal wel van twee kanten moeten komen.
